Bangsamoro Development Plan Turn Over Ceremony, Camp Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, November 2, 2014
The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) submitted the completed Bangsamoro Development Plan to the MILF in Camp Darapanan on November 2, 2014 with government and international community support. Built from the 2012 Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro, the BDP was designed to promote socioeconomic recovery and rehabilitation in the region by strengthening institutions; promoting jobs and livelihood and improved access to basic services; and helping establish rule of law and security.
The MTF provided financial and technical support to the BDA, the MILF’s development arm, as it crafted a rigorous, credible, and inclusive development plan for the proposed Bangsamoro core territories. MTF’s assistance during the 20-month process included the provision of technical experts on development planning, data management, Geographic Information System (GIS), and communications. It also covered costs for the BDA Core Planning Team, Advisory Council, and Bangsamoro focal persons, as well as funded a series of community visioning exercises across Mindanao to support BDA’s commitment in formulating a document that will benefit Muslim, Christian, and IP communities in the region.
