Reconstruction and Development Project Phase 3 (RDP/3)

The MTF-RDP/3 builds on the success of RDP/2 in broadening peace dividends delivered in the communities within the Six Acknowledged Camps of the MILF. Cognizant of the risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, RDP/3 expanded its infrastructure projects to include community health facilities in addition to the socio-economic infrastructures it has been providing. These health facilities aim to increase the communities’ preparedness to prevent, respond and manage risks brought about by COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.

To ensure that these health infrastructures become functional, the project conducted health related trainings for Community Health Workers on COVID-19 preparedness and response, safe motherhood, immunization, among others. ALS completers from RDP/2 continued their education in RDP/3 through the various socio-economic and productivity enhancement skills trainings, such as food processing, modern agriculture strategies, and masonry, among others.

To ensure the sustainability of these initiatives as well as create direct linkages between the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Ministries and the camps communities, a mainstreaming component was included. This involved tapping relevant BARMM Ministries as partners in the implementation of RDP/3 activities. This also included the formation of Technical Working Groups (TWGs), composed of the technical officials from the key BARMM Ministries, which served as a platform for sharing of insights and good practices in developing the communities that could inform regional government’s policies and practices.
