With the peace process gathering pace following the 2012 signing of the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro, the MTF evolved through 2013 to adapt to the changing context. During this year, the program added two new components. Firstly, support was extended to the joint Government of the Philippines-Moro Islamic Liberation Front (GPH-MILF) “Sajahatra Bangsamoro” program. A confidence- building initiative of President Aquino and MILF Chair Al Haj Murad, Sajahatra Bangsamoro extends health, education and livelihood support to thousands of people in conflict-affected communities in the Bangsamoro area. Secondly, in November 2013 the MTF launched support for the Bangsamoro Development Plan. The Plan will lay out an economic blueprint for the proposed Bangsamoro region and also expand the capacity of the Bangsamoro Development Agency to include macro-level planning. To support the program expansion, additional funds were provided during the year by the Government of Australia (A$1.3 million in June) and the European Union (8 million Euro in November), coinciding with the visit of EU Development Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs.
