In 2015, the Mindanao Trust Fund marked a decade of promoting socioeconomic recovery in conflict-affected communities in Mindanao. At the close of the year, nearly half a million people in 214 communities across 75 municipalities benefited from 379 infrastructure and livelihood projects. Many beneficiaries reported increased economic opportunities, improved access to basic services, enhanced capacities to manage programs and stronger social unity among diverse groups.
From July to December 2015, the MTF supported the (1) institutionalization of the Bangsamoro Development Agency's operations and finance systems, (2) enhancement of 30 People's Organizations' financial and managerial skills and (3) popularization efforts of the Bangsamoro Development Plan in 29 local communities and regional universities in Mindanao. These forward planning efforts were designed to strengthen Bangsamoro institutions so they may better deliver services on the ground, as well as reinforce gains achieved by the Philippine Government and the MILF in helping bring lasting peace and sustainable development in Mindanao.
